As part of the Friends of Freshford proposal to enhance biodiversity on The Tyning we have been following a new grass cutting regime. The main grassland has been left to grow, flower and seed and, now the sun is shining, will be cut, left to dry and then baled and taken away.
Removing the cuttings will help reduce fertility in the soil and allow more species of wildflower and grasses to flourish.
Weather depending we expect another cut to happen in September.
Paths and the flat areas will continue to be mown regularly.
