| Richard Tibbles | Richard has run his own construction business for 35 years, involving many low energy building projects. He is a founder member of the Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) and a retired member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He is currently extending and retrofitting his Cotswold stone cottage to AECB Silver standard which is aimed at reducing energy consumption by around 80%, using low impact materials as much as possible. |
| Philip Haile | Philip is a commercial energy assessor, providing advice to building owners on reducing their energy consumption and carbon emissions. He is also a volunteer for Transition Bath helping the community reduce their building and transport carbon emissions, including providing thermal imaging surveys. His home in Freshford is run carbon neutrally. He is ‘Sustainability Trustee’ for Freshford Village Hall. |
| Ben Walters | Ben has a masters degree in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies. His thesis for which was on how best to reduce the energy consumption of hard to treat Cotswold homes, comparing the cost effectiveness of the measures available at reducing carbon emissions. He’s completed a number of his own self builds and renovations, and started his property development company in 2013. |
| Duncan Finlayson | Now retired, a chartered engineer with an international career in multi-disciplinary consultancy, and a particular expertise in groundwater development. He designed the systems which transfer thermal water from the Bath Hot Springs to the Thermae Bath Spa. His 1960s home in Limpley Stoke has been retrofitted with an Air Source Heat Pump, underfloor heating and solar panels, for which he acted as project manager. |
| Olly Potts | Is an executive coach who previously worked for 17 years as a regional leader at Bloomberg based in London, Mumbai, and French-speaking Europe. He enlisted help to retrofit the London Victorian terraced house he lived in from 2015 to 2021 with solar photovoltaic roof panels, double glazed windows, and better insulation. Having moved to Limpley Stoke in July 2021, he is assessing ways to reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions of his 1960s home. |
| Rich Tyers | Rich is an Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer. His studio specialises in low energy homes, low energy home renovations and planning consultancy services. He has a special interest in modern methods of construction. His current projects include a new Passivhaus home, a master plan of factory made low-energy holiday cottages and a prefabricated garage/garden room in Widcombe. He is a member of the AECB, Passivhaus Trust and RIBA. |
