St. Mary’s Church, Limpley Stoke
David Sibley will host this talk which will take place in St Mary’s Church, Limpley Stoke.
David, a retired Music Master at King Edward’s School in Bath and ex-Church Warden for St Mary’s, will explain a little of the history of the Church, leading back to it’s Saxon origins and also shed some light on the ancient St Edith of Wilton Way, a 40-mile pilgrimage route from Freshford to Wilton, near Salisbury.
The walk is dedicated to the legendary Tenth Century saint, who was a nun and, rather surprisingly, something of a fashion icon in her time. She was also an artist, a zoo-keeper and daughter of Edgar the first crowned King of England,
