7.30pm
Freshford Village Memorial Hall
Described by Nikolaus Pevsner as “a blank building …with no redeeming features,” Trevor will seek to demonstrate that the Square and its residents actually have a fascinating story to tell.
Beginning life as a weaving workshop and cottages, it was for many years the Bradford Union Workhouse, then an Auxiliary Hospital in WW1 and a hotel – The Gem in The Avon Valley! The talk will be based on his book “A Gem in the Avon Valley”. Copies will be available for sale and all proceeds will go to the Museum of Bath at Work and the Neem Tree Trust.
