The Freshford Big ‘Do-it-Yourself’ Coronation Picnic is very nearly upon us!
Following an enthusiastic response, all of the available tables have been allocated and we will reserve 6 chairs for each one. If your party is more than six, please bring additional chairs to suit. If you have not managed to book a table, do not be put off, there is plenty of room for you to bring and set up your own.
The Playing Field will be open for setting up from 10.30am and we would ask that, if you are bringing your picnic, extra chairs/tables, Gazebo etc by car, that you unload outside the Hall and then move your vehicle to the overflow car park in Galleries Field, off Freshford Lane – Stephen and Gitte have kindly prepared a mown area on the left as you enter the field and Ian Sharp is setting up signs for your convenience and guidance. As there is no bus service on Sunday, parking is also available on Freshford Lane itself. We’re expecting the Bouncy Slide and Jazz Band to arrive during this period, so please don’t hang around in the car park!
Entrance to the event is free to all comers, thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Bath Stone Group and Friends of Freshford.
Do come dressed for the occasion and there will be prizes for the best Crowns (under and over 14 years).
We will not be throwing anyone out at 4.00pm, but the volunteer team will want to start returning tables and chairs to the Hall and the Bouncy Slide crew will need access to remove the slide.
As a special plea, do plan to take your rubbish home as the Council bins will never cope, and neither will we!!
Our little working group hopes to see a great turnout and that you all have a jolly and memorable Coronation experience.
David and Mary Wright, Bob and Rowena Wood, Emily Pennant-Rea, Gemma Hardy (and us!)
