Housing Needs Survey Update

Freshford Parish Council has obtained funding for a Housing Needs Survey.

The reason is that the Neighbourhood Plan needs to be reviewed and brought up to date. The HNS used in creating the Neighbourhood Plan was from the Parish Plan from c.2008 and the current view is needed.

The need to undertake a Neighbourhood Plan review is to ensure that it is kept relevant so that it does not lose weight in planning decisions.

The Housing Needs Survey will provide the evidence on what the Freshford community needs.

Since the decision to review the Neighbourhood Plan was taken, it has become clear that B&NES are under significant pressure to build a significant number of new homes. Where those homes will go is yet to be decided by B&NES. Any case that the Parish Council may need to make will need to supported by evidence, and the Housing Needs Survey will provide part of that evidence.

A paper form has been sent out to each household in Freshford and it would really helpful if you could complete the Housing Needs Survey.

If you are not a Freshford Resident but have a strong local connection with Freshford and wish to take part in the Housing Needs Survey, please use the on-line form which is located here: Housing Needs Survey Form.

It would be helpful if Freshford residents could also use the on-line form as it reduces the amount of manual data entry.

Please note that the dates on the form are not correct.

The form states that all paper HNS forms should be returned by 4th April, this should be 4th May.
